Victron Battery Monitor provides Virtual Access to Solar Power System
Have you been using diode isolators for your parallel-connected batteries? Do you want a perfect and even better replacement for them? Don’t be anxious! Deep Cycle Systems has got you covered. We provide a Victron Cyrix battery combiner to help you connect the batteries in parallel when the battery charging reaches the desired voltage level. That mark battery has achieved full charge status. This is crucial to avoid high voltage damage. It also prevents damage from low voltage by disconnecting the battery from the further drain. So, in short, Cyrix by Victron works as an indicator for you to know one the battery is discharged or charged and an ideal replacement for diode isolators. Cyrix ensures control voltage loss, and hence there isn’t any need to boost the battery charger’s output voltage.
A battery Monitoring System or simply the Victron battery monitor is crucial to observe the status and health of the battery, and it becomes vital when you own an expensive high-quality lithium-ion battery bank. The main focus of BMS is to ensure the battery pack operates at a safe level and is reliable as well. The BMS uses a number of algorithms to try to generate the estimated outputs:
State of charge:
The State of Charge or SOC, which is also termed as fuel gauge just like your mobile phone, indicates the phone is charged 80%, the phone is fully charged, and you get a disconnection warning or phone is below a specific preset level, i.e., 20% and you get warning to recharge your phone to avoid phone shutdown. Depending on the setting of your phone, your phone may limit the usage of some features and applications if the battery requires charging.
State of Health:
The BMS also generates a state of health or SOH estimate, so at a high level, the state of health is how much capacity the battery pack can store relative to what it was when he first got it or beginning of life. For example, if you’ve had a cell phone for a couple of years, the current battery health won’t be as good as it was originally; maybe after two years, the phone’s battery health would be seventy percent of what it was when you first got it.
The BMS takes a number of inputs, including;
Voltages:
– Cell voltages
– Battery voltages
Temperature:
BMS takes in a number of temperature sensors; typically, temperature sensors sprinkled throughout the pack to get a sense of the temperature distribution of the cells.
Current:
The BMS takes the input of current flowing into or out of the pack so, i.e., the battery bank is taking current for charging or in discharging mode to power connected loads.
At Deep Cycle Systems, we also provide Victron Battery Monitor to help you monitor battery voltage, current, power, ampere-hours consumed, state of charge, and remaining time at the current rate of discharge. It can be easily installed with your battery shunt with a standard RJ12 telephone cable. With our monitor installed with the battery, you also have the options square or round Victron display appearance as it comes with bezel square.
You can also monitor the battery from your smartphone, whether Apple or Android, tablet, PC, or Macbook, using the VictronConnect app available for all devices. However, you need to install a Bluetooth smart dongle with the product. You can even use your smartphone to adjust the settings.
